Bihar :Rajnath slams Lalu's family members for 'jail jibe' against PM Modi

Jamui, Apr 14 (UNI) Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday slammed family members of RJD chief Lalu Prasad for " jail jibe " against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying no one in the country would tolerate such statements.
Singh while addressing a public meeting here in favour of NDA candidate Arun Bharati for ongoing Lok Sabha elections in Jamui seat, said that family members of RJD chief Lalu Prasad were making statements that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would go to jail if India bloc was voted to power. It was strange to note that those who were either in jail or on bail, were making such statements against Prime Minister Modi, he added while referring to a recent remark of Misa Bharti that PM Modi and other BJP leaders would be sent to jail for corruption charges if INDIA bloc was voted to power.
" People of the country will not tolerate any such statement against Prime Minister Modi", the Union Minister said adding that the Narendra Modi government had fulfilled all its promises made during last Lok Sabha. elections. Article 370 relating to Jammu and Kashmir was scrapped in one stroke soon after the Narendra Modi government was voted to power for a second term in 2016, he added.
Singh also a senior BJP leader, said that triple talaq was declared illegal and provision was made for punishment against those practicing it. A large number of Muslim women were subjected to torture and harassment due to triple talaq and Narendra Modi's government had taken a bold decision to end this practice which improved the quality of life of Muslim women, he added.
Union Minister said that BJP had never been indulged in politics based on caste and creed. The decision was taken to wipe out the system of triple talaq irrespective of its political consequences, he stressed.
Singh said that the "Ayushman Bharat scheme " would be launched for all those above the age of 70 years, irrespective of their caste and religion. The scheme for the age group of 70 years and above would be rolled out within 100 days of the Narendra Modi government voted to power for a third term after the ongoing general election, he added.
Union Minister said that the influence of India had increased considerably on the world forum after Narendra Modi became Prime Minister in 2016.
Earlier, no one on the world forum used to pay much attention to views expressed by India, he pointed out.
Singh said that it was certain that Narendra Modi to become Prime Minister for 3rd term after the ongoing general elections. Even some countries had started taking appointments of Prime Minister Modi for the next one year, under the strong belief that he would be voted to power again, he added.
