Maiden Folk Music & Dance Festival of Arunachal begins at Namsai

Itanagar, Feb 28 (UNI) The first edition of Folk Music and Dance Festival of Arunachal Pradesh got underway on Wednesday at Poi Pee Mau Ground, Namsai, with Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein inaugurating the two-day event in presence of Arunachal East MP Tapir Gao and other dignitaries.
Aimed at celebrating the rich cultural heritage of the state, the maiden folk music and dance festival is being organised by the government of Arunachal Pradesh under the aegis of Ek Bharat and Shrestha Bharat. Cultural troupes from different districts of Arunachal Pradesh will compete and showcase their folk music and dance during the two-day festival.
Speaking on the occasion, Mein stated that the Folk Music and Dance Festival will serve as a forum for showcasing and preserving the rich heritage of indigenous folk arts and fostering cultural integration in line with the principles of Ek Bharat and Shrestha Bharat.
