Meghalaya CM petitioned against twin murders

Shillong, Mar 30 (UNI) In the wake of the day light lynching of two non-tribal persons, the Coordination and Welfare Committee (CWC) Shella Bholaganj Block and adjoining areas has petitioned Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma to ensure security of the minority communities living in the border village.
Sujit Dutta and Ishan Singh were brutally murdered on Wednesday evening by unidentified persons after a rally against the Citizen's Amendment Act (CAA) organised by the Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) in Ichamati area along the India-Bangladesh border, according to the FIRs.
The Committee, in its petition, copies of which were also marked for the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, asked the Chief Minister to hand over the investigation to the CBI or NIA if the State police are unable to nab the perpetrators within a week.
