Mizoram: upcoming Lok Sabha polls crucial to "save India's democracy":Jairam Ramesh

Aizawl, Apr 12 (UNI) Senior Congress leader and former Union Minister Jairam Ramesh said the upcoming Lok Sabha election is crucial to save India's democracy.
Addressing a news conference in Aizawl, Jairam Ramesh emphasised the critical importance of the upcoming elections for India's democracy, highlighting the need to uphold unity and diversity in the nation.
Ramesh criticised the BJP's attempts to implement the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), warning that it could lead to the division of the country along religious and linguistic lines. He underscored India's status as a multi-ethnic and multi-religious nation, cautioning against the BJP's agenda of promoting a singular identity through initiatives like 'One Nation, One Religion, and One Language.'
