Congress holds protest, demands de-freeze of party accounts

Srinagar, Apr 1 (UNI) Congress workers and leaders on Monday held protest demonstrations in Srinagar demanding immediate de-freeze of all accounts seized by the income tax department across the country ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.
Holding placards, the workers gathered at the party headquarters at Moulana Azad road in Srinagar and shouted slogans against the ruling BJP and Income tax department demanding the restoration of democracy and de-freeze of party accounts ahead of the Lok Sabha.
The workers alleged that the Income tax department froze the accounts of the Congress party at a time when preparations are underway for the upcoming Lok Sabha election in the country.
