UP CM compares role of Intellectuals to that of ancient sages

UP CM compares role of Intellectuals to that of ancient sages

Bijnor, March 29 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday emphasised the significance of intellectual people comparing their role to that of ancient sages who lead society in different areas.
While addressing Prabuddha Jan Sammelan at JVS Resort in Bijnor, he underscored that the intellectuals ranging from doctors to businessmen, lawyers, teachers and environmentalists serve as opinion leaders, offering guidance and leadership to the community.
The CM appealed to vote for the joint candidate of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) Chandan Chauhan from the Bijnor seat and BJP candidate Om Kumar from the Nagina seat. "This is the land of Mahatma Vidur, so I want the blessings of Prabudd Jan to be bestowed upon both our candidates," he said.
Yogi mentioned that the public trusts the words of this enlightened class, who lead in different areas of life. He equated their role to that of ancient sages, recognising their profound impact on shaping societal values and progress.
He said that people used to say that one should not stay overnight in Bijnor, but he stayed here and also interacted with enlightened people. The Chief Minister mentioned that during his stay, he came to know that Bijnor district has a lot of potential and it is not just a place but is also the identity of India.
Yogi mentioned that this is the land of Mahatma Vidur, who comes from the tradition of those sages who showed the courage to speak the truth even in the era of the Mahabharata. "Our public representatives here demanded a medical college for this place, which was immediately accepted, paving the way for a medical college in the name of Mahatma Vidur," he said.
The CM said that there is a lack of enthusiasm among the enlightened people. "We engage in big discussions, but become lazy when it comes to actual voting. This time, we must vote first ourselves and then encourage others to vote. We need to recognise the value of each of our votes," he said.
Yogi said, "Your one wrong vote spreads lawlessness, puts the safety of daughters and businessmen at risk, and fosters terrorism and separatism. But with your right to vote, faith and heritage are respected and young people get means of livelihood."
Highlighting the importance of one right vote, he mentioned that the country develops rapidly and security enhances. He said that with one right vote, Article 370 was abolished in Kashmir and after 500 years of wait, Lord Ram is now seated in his magnificent temple.
Reflecting on the tenures of various political parties, including Samajwadi Party (SP), Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and Congress, the CM asserted that the most impactful period has been under PM Modi's leadership. He underscored Modi's commitment to ensuring the dignity and respect of every citizen, without discrimination, which extends to guaranteeing security and prosperity for all.
Yogi said that for some people their family is important, but for PM Modi the entire country is his family. "The country is the same, the state is the same, only the government has changed. He further remarked on the transformative changes in Uttar Pradesh under the current administration, with the absence of curfews and riots, ensuring safety for daughters and businessmen, and peaceful celebrations of festivals," he said.
The Chief Minister said, "Festivals are being celebrated peacefully. The whole country is eager to come to Ayodhya and Kashi. The business of traders is flourishing. This is the message that we need to spread in society."
He said that if any politician recognised the true essence of India, it was Chaudhary Charan Singh, who said that the path to India's progress goes through the fields and farms of the country. Yogi expressed his gratitude to PM Modi for honouring Chaudhary Sahab with the Bharat Ratna.
