Fresh batch of 1,525 pilgrims leaves for Amarnath from Jammu

Jammu, Jul 2 (UNI) A fresh batch of 1,525 pilgrims today left for the Holy Cave Shrine of Shri Amarnath from Bhagwati Nagar based Yatri Niwas base camp here. "A batch of 1,525 pilgrims comprising of 1,074 male, 236 female, seven children and 190 sadhus, including 16 female sadhus and two transgenders, left for the cave shrine in a fleet of 47 vehicles," a police spokesperson said. He said the vehicles included 36 SRTC buses and 11 Light Motor Vehicles. The first bus left at 0500 hrs while the last at 0530 hrs amid tight security arrangements. The first batch of pilgrims was flagged off yesterday from here which will proceed for the cave shrine in South Himalayas from the Kashmir Valley. UNI VBH KU SV 1201
