Chennai, Apr 22 (UNI) A Principal Sessions Court in Chennai on Monday extended
till April 25, the judicial remand of former Tamil Nadu Minister V.Senthilbalaji after
handing over the original documents pertaining to the Enforcement Directorate (ED)
cases filed against him.
After the expiry of remand, he was physically produced before Principal Sessions Judge
Ms.S.Alli, who had extended his remanded till April 25.
The Judge, after handing over the copies of the original case documents filed by the
ED, extended his remand and directed the authorities to produce him via video
conferencing on April 25.
Soon after he was produced before the court, the documents were handed over to him
and the Court said his fresh bail plea will be taken up for hearing in the next couple of
days.
Mr Senthilbalaji, who was arrested in June last year in a money laundering case by the
Enforcement Directorate in cash for jobs scam, had filed bail pleas before the Trial court,
Madras High Court and it has been dismissed.
He also moved the Apex Court seeking bail on medical grounds, but was asked to
withdraw his plea, while directing him to seek relief from the Trial court.
