Telangana BJP chief challenges Rahul Gandhi to debate on Cong manifesto

Telangana BJP chief challenges Rahul Gandhi to debate on Cong manifesto

Hyderabad, April 7 (UNI) G Kishan Reddy, Union Minister and President of Telangana's Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has extended an invitation to Rahul Gandhi for a debate regarding the Congress election manifesto.

Addressing the media at the party's state headquarters on Sunday, Reddy criticised Gandhi's assertions, claiming that Gandhi seems to speak as if he launched the manifesto in Thukkuguda during the last assembly elections, and as if all promises were fulfilled after coming to power in Telangana.

Reddy pointed out that Gandhi appears uninformed about the actions of the Congress government in Telangana, emphasising the unfulfilled promises such as the pledge to implement six guarantees within 100 days. He challenged Gandhi to a debate on these promises, asserting that the people of Telangana deserve clarity.

The BJP leader highlighted various unmet commitments by the Congress, including the failure to deliver on farmer loan waivers and unemployment benefits. He criticised Gandhi's leadership, accusing him of making superficial statements without understanding the ground reality.

Reddy further attacked the Congress's track record, alleging injustice towards backward classes (BCs) and claiming that the BJP, under Narendra Modi's leadership, has prioritised the upliftment of marginalized communities.

The BJP chief questioned the Congress's commitment to empowering BCs, contrasting it with the Modi government's initiatives. He also criticised Gandhi's remarks on China and highlighted the strides made in domestic manufacturing under Modi's governance.

Reddy challenged Congress to deliver on its promises or engage in a debate to justify its claims. He expressed confidence that the people of Telangana were disillusioned with the Congress and Gandhi's leadership.

The BJP leader dismissed the Congress as a "private limited company" of the Nehru-Gandhi family, asserting that the people of India are no longer interested in the party's rhetoric.
