JITO holds Ahimsa Run in capital with over 15,000 participants

New Delhi, Mar 31 (UNI) The Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi was bustling with energy and enthusiasm as the Jain International Trade Organisation (JITO) hosted the 'Ahimsa Run' on Sunday morning.
This unique event, organised by JITO Pan India in more than 100 cities globally, saw an astounding 125,000+ participants running simultaneously to promote the message of 'AHIMSA' or non-violence.

JITO, a multi-stakeholder community of visionaries including Jain industrialists, businessmen, and professionals, aims to shape the future of the community and society at large. The event marked a significant milestone, as it was officially recognised and registered in the Guinness Book of World Records. In New Delhi, NCR, alone, over 15,000 participants enthusiastically joined the cause.

The 'Ahimsa Run' featured four established categories: 21 km, 10 km, 5 km, and 3 km, catering to friends, families, and children of all ages, genders, and communities. Held on the eve of the birth anniversary of 'Bhagwan Mahavir', the run embodied the motto of 'Live and Let Live', reflecting the ethos of JITO's New Delhi Chapter.

The event commenced at 5:30 a.m. at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, where more than 8,000 runners gathered to participate. The run was flagged off by two renowned personalities: actor Milind Soman and actress Mandira Bedi. Their presence added a touch of glamour and inspiration to the event.

The 'Ahimsa Run' received overwhelming support and blessings from Bollywood celebrities and politicians across India. Through this event, JITO aimed to present the message of non-violence and inspire individuals and communities to embrace peace and a harmless way of living.

Reflecting a powerful statement in the pursuit of a better world, the 'Ahimsa Marathon' promoted compassion and kindness towards all beings. It stood as a testament to the commitment of JITO and its participants towards creating a more harmonious and peaceful society.

The event concluded with participants expressing their joy and satisfaction at being part of such a significant initiative. Jimo's 'Ahimsa Run' in New Delhi was not just a marathon; it was a movement towards a more compassionate and non-violent world.
On March 30, 2024, they also conducted a press conference at Anuvrat Bhawan, ITO, Delhi, where actor, model, and fitness freak Milind Soman addressed the media and answered questions regarding fitness and Jito Ahimsa Run.
