2 civilians injured by Israeli airstrikes on Syrian territories: Ministry

Damascus, Mar 29 (UNI) The Israeli military launched aerial attacks on Syrian territories on Thursday, injuring two civilians and causing material losses on the targeted area, according to the Syrian Defense Ministry.

The ministry reported that around 5:50 p.m. local time (1450 GMT), the Israeli forces initiated an aerial attack from the direction of the occupied Syrian Golan Heights, targeting a residential building in the countryside of Damascus.

Meanwhile, the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights provided additional details, stating that five Syrian fighters affiliated with the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah were among the injured.

These fighters were serving as guards for a headquarters that came under Israeli attack in the Al-Bahdaliyah area near Sayyida Zaynab in the southern countryside of Damascus.

Since the beginning of 2024, the observatory said it had documented 27 instances of Israeli attacks against Syrian territories, including 19 aerial and eight ground strikes.

These strikes resulted in the injury and destruction of approximately 55 targets, including weapon and ammunition depots, headquarters, centers, and vehicles, while 60 military personnel lost their lives and 48 others sustained injuries of varying degrees from the attacks, according to the observatory report.
Furthermore, the Israeli attacks claimed the lives of 10 civilians and wounded 10 others, the report said.
