Thousands rally against violence towards women in Australia

Canberra, April 27 (UNI) Thousands of Australians rallied against violence towards women on Saturday following April's attack on a Sydney shopping mall that is believed to have been motivated by misogyny, Australian media reported.

The demonstrators gathered for a protest in the centre of Sydney and then marched through the city's streets, carrying posters with written calls for an end to violence against women and tougher criminal legislation for relevant offences, The Australian newspaper reported.
