NHRC seeks report from Bengal on "disposal of bodies of suspected Corona patients in a city crematorium"

Kolkata, Jun 30 (UNI) The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has sought an Action Taken Report from the West Bengal government within six weeks on the matter of "disposal of bodies of suspected Corona patients in a city crematorium on June ten".
Acting on a complaint of one Bipul Chattopadhyay that 13-14 unidentified bodies were treated in an undignified manner, the NHRC yesterday dashed off letters to the state Chief Secretary, the Commissioner of Police and the Municipal Commissioner of the Kolkata Municipal Corporation.
UNI has a copy of the letter signed by Assistant Registrar (Law) Indrajeet Kumar.
