Ola reduces fare charge to Rs 3 per km in ‘Share’ category

New Delhi, Sep 26 (UNI) Leading transport aggregator Ola today announced the expansion of its fastest growing categories, Ola Share to 3 new cities and that too at Rs three per kilometre.
With the addition of Chandigarh, Jaipur and Ahmedabad, Ola Share is now present in 10 cities. The unprecedented success of the category has been facilitated by innovative technology solutions aimed at benefiting customers and driver-partners alike, the company said in a statement.
Talking more about the development, Raghuvesh Sarup, CMO and Head of Categories at Ola said, “Shared mobility is one of the key focus areas for Ola as it enables far reaching benefits like reduced pollution and congestion-free roads. We are constantly working to upgrade this experience for users as well as the driver-partners. The technology that we use to match users - ‘same route sharing’ - ensures that a majority of our rides are fully occupied and the on-route deviation time is minimal.”
This helps Ola Share in becoming the most eco-friendly and pocket friendly ride, and also maximises earning opportunity to our driver-partners, as they are able to make the best use of their logged-in time by fulfilling more bookings, he added.
He further added, “With immense demand for Ola Share and improved matching rate, we have been able to bring down fares to as low as Rs. 3/km, making Ola Share more pocket-friendly than ever. We strongly believe that smart commuting options like Ola Share will play a significant role in furthering our mission of building mobility for a billion Indians.”
The reduced fare is applicable in all the 10 cities Ola Share is operational in. While Bangalore, Hyderabad and Mumbai have emerged as top markets with some of the best ‘user matching algorithms’ and minimal en-route deviation percentages; Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai, lead the race in terms of volume of transactions per day.
