Itanagar, April 17 (UNI) Amid the ongoing electioneering in Arunachal Pradesh, a Panchayat leader in Longding district was allegedly abducted by the Naga militants, informed sources said on Wednesday.
Though official confirmation about the occurrence is awaited from the police and district administration, a source in the know stated that the Gram Panchayat Chairperson (GPC) of Pumao in Longding district, Sangam Wangsu, who is also a BJP worker, has not returned home after he met the NSCN-KYA cadres last night.
“While some say he was picked up from his home at 9 pm, others say he had received a phone call from the Naga outfit for a meeting after which he did not come back,” the source said.
