PC, son Karti confident of INDIA Bloc winning all 39 LS seats in TN

Chennai, Apr 19 (UNI) Former Union Minister and Senior Congress Leader P.Chidambaram
exuded confidence that the Opposition-led INDIA bloc will win all the 39 Lok Sabha seats
Tamil Nadu, polling for which began on Friday morning.
Mr Chidmabaram and his son Karti Chidambaram, who is seeking re-election from the
Sivaganga seat--represented by his father for a record seven terms--turned up at the polling
station very early to cast their ballot.
Talking to reporters, after casting his vote, the former Union Minister said "as far as Tamil
Nadu is concerned, I am absolutely confident that the INDIA group will win all the 39
Parliamentary seats in Tamil Nadu...This is the first phase of elections, there are seven
phases...Today all of Tamil Nadu votes and I am absolutely confident that we will win all
seats."
Mr Karti said people are unhappy with the BJP-led central government and they will vote
out the BJP government, while demanding a judicial probe headed by three Supreme Court
Judges into the electoral bonds issue.
He also sounded confident that the people will overwhelmingly vote for the INDIA bloc
in the State.
On the controversial electoral bonds row, which came in handy for the DMK-led Front,
in which Congress is a key ally, to corner the BJP-led NDA government after Supreme
Court intervention, Mr Karti said there has been a clear quid pro quo established with
electoral bonds and the donations which the BJP has got.
"In fact I am demanding an independent probe by three retired Supreme Court judges
to go into the quid pro quo with electoral bonds...", he said.
