Probe into killing of two people in Meghalaya

Shillong, Mar 28 (UNI) Meghalaya police on Thursday said probe is on into the killing of two persons in Ichamati and Dalda in Meghalaya’s East Khasi Hills district along the India-Bangladesh border, even though no arrest was made in this connection till the filing of this report.
“We have strong leads on some individuals who we suspect to have committed the crimes at Ichamati. However, no arrests have been made so far,” Rituraj Ravi, the district police chief of East Khasi Hills, said.
The bodies of Esan Singh and Sujit Dutta were found on Wednesday evening at Ichamati and Dalda, respectively, after an anti-CAA rally was organised by the Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) along with other pressure groups at Ichamati.
