Social activist along with 60 children cast vote in 2nd phase of Lok Sabha polls in Amravati

Amravati, Apr 26 (UNI) Senior social activist Shankarbaba Papalkar, engaged in rehabilitation of orphans and disabled children abandoned by their families, has set a record of sorts in history of late Ambadaspant Vaidya Divyang, Bevarasi Balgriha (orphanage), by casting vote along with his 60 children at Vajjar village in Achalpur taluka of the district in second phase of Lok Sabha elections in Maharashtra on Friday.
Papalkar along with 60 children reached the polling station number 215 at Vajjar and exercised their right to vote.
Papalkar has given his name to the children, who have been living in the children's home for last 15 to 20 years.

Pune, May 6 (UNI) Day temperatures were appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at many places over Gangetic West Bengal; at isolated places at a few places over Bihar; above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at many places over west Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal, Kerala and Mahe, Telangana, Rayalaseema; at a few places over east Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam; at isolated places over Punjab, Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad. These were markedly below normal (-3.1°C to -5.0°C) at isolated places over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya; below normal (-1.6°C to -3.0°C); at isolated places over Gujarat state and near normal over rest parts of the country. Yesterday, the highest maximum temperature of 45.1°C was reported at Saraikela (Jharkhand) over the country.
