Stoinis power-packed century powers LSG to titanic win against CSK

Chennai, Apr 23 (UNI) Aussie batter Marucs Stonis' power hitting hundred that overshadowed
Ruturaj's century, carried LSG to a thumping six wicket win by four balls to spare against home favourite CSK here on Tuesday night.
Set a daunting target, Stoinis, promoted at No.3, anchored the chase, hitting a blistering 63 ball Century that consisted of 13 fours and six sixers, as LSG won its second successive match against CSK in back to back encnounters.
Chasing CSK's 210 for six, LSG finished at 213 for four in 19.3 overs as the visitors romped home quite easily to jump to the fourth spot in the points table ahead of CSK.
Despite setting a massive target, the CSK bowlers, picked up crucial wickets, but Stoinis proved the difference in the end with his pyro-techniques.
CSK suffered first defeat at home in four matches as the bowlers struggled to contain the rampaging Stoinis and ended up on the losing side.
With 53 needed in last 3.3 overs, Deepak hooda played the ideal foil with a six-ball 17 with two fours and a six to hasten the end.
It was a disastrous start for LSG having lost Quinton De Kock in the opening over and also skipper
KL Rahul nd D.Padikkal cheaply. Nicholas Pooran played a nice cameo to sustain the chase before Stoinis and Hooda decisively dented CSK's hopes.
Earlier, CSK helped by Ruturaj's unbetean century (108), surviving on two dropped chances, and Shivam Dube's brutal assault (66) took CSK to a daunting total, which proved inadequate in the end as the home team bowlers wilted under pressure.
The visitors needed 17 runs in the last over bowled by left armer Mustafizur Rahman.
Stoinis started with a six and four of the first two balls, before an edged four off no ball reduced the leeway, and he finished it off in style with a boundary in the next and seal the chase with three balls
to spare to tame the CSK lions in its own den.
