Tripura submits fresh DPRs to centre for tourism infrastructure

Agartala, Mar 7 (UNI) Tripura government has submitted DPRs and concept notes for three major tourism projects to the centre seeking fund as part of it’s mission to turn the state into a major tourism and investment destination of Northeast, said state’s Transport, Tourism and Civil Supplies Minister Sushanta Chowdhury.
“We have sought Rs 70 crore for renovation of Eden Tourist lodge at Jampui Hills along Mizoram border and introduction of adventure activities in the hill station like bungee jumping, and skywalk at Jampui,” he said.
A separate project for development of tourism facilities around tea gardens in the state and special tourism infrastructure project for Jirania has also been placed before Union Minister of Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat early this week in Delhi. The ministry has already released Rs 67 crore from the sanctioned of Rs 97 crore for 51 Shakti Pith project set to come up at Banduar of Udaipur in Gomati district.

Missing Hungarian national’s body found in Meghalaya

Shillong, Apr 10 (UNI) Search and rescue team on Thursday found the body of Puskas Zsolt, a Hungarian national who went missing in Meghalaya since March 29, police said.
The search and rescue, which comprised Meghalaya Police, rescue teams, Home Guards, and local residents, found the body at Ramdait village on the way to Tyrna in Shella under the Sohra Civil Sub-Division in East Khasi Hills district.
