Troika Plus on Afghanistan to meet in Doha on Aug 11

Islamabad, Jul 31 (UNI) Senior officials from Russia, the US, China, and Pakistan, known as the Troika Plus on Afghanistan, will meet in Doha, Qatar, on August 11 as part of efforts to prevent Afghanistan from slipping into another civil war.
The meeting comes in the backdrop of the Taliban making rapid inroads in the war-torn country in the wake of the US and NATO forces withdrawing from the country, and the lack of any headway in the intra-Afghan talks.
The special representatives of these four countries had last met in April in Doha, and previously also held unannounced sessions in what appeared to be an effort to develop regional consensus on the Afghan endgame, the Tribune.pk reported.
