U.P: Three suspended after boy falls in open sewer, dies

Lucknow, April 26 (UNI) Two engineers and a supervisor were suspended following the death of an eight-year-old boy who had fallen into an open sewer, an official spokesman said here on Friday.
The spokesman said that on April 23 Shahrukh Khan, a resident of sector 7 in Jankipuram colony, fell into an open sewer. "After getting the information the minister directed the departmental officials to reach the spot and take necessary action," he said.
He said that Municipal Commissioner Indrajeet Singh reached the spot and the boy was rescued from an 18 feet deep sewer in a joint operation by the teams of NDRF, SDRF and firefighters. "He was taken to the trauma center where Shahrukh died. Minister Sharma has issued a directive to conduct a departmental inquiry and take stern action against the guilty," he said.
