UP: Around 12.66 pc votes polled on 8 seats till 9 am

Lucknow, April 19 (UNI) Approximately 12.66 per cent of 1.44 crore voters polled their votes in two hours across eight parliamentary constituencies in the first phase of Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh till 9 am, as per polling officials.
According to Election Commission data, a maximum 13.91 per cent votes were polled on Nagina seat, whereas Rampur witnessed the lowest turnout of 10.66 per cent in the first two hours.
In the same time, 12.37 per cent polling was done in Bijnor, 12.45 per cent in Kairana, 10.89 per cent in Moradabad, 11.31 per cent in Muzaffarnagar, 13.36 per cent in Pilibhit, and 13.09 per cent in Saharanpur.
The office of the Chief Electoral Officer in the state said that polling continues peacefully, and barring minor glitches, no untoward incident was reported.
The polling, which began at 7 am will continue till 6 pm.
