UP minister Sanjay Nishad manhandled

Sant Kabir Nagar (UP), Apr 22 (UNI) Cabinet Minister in the Yogi Adityanath government and NISHAD party Dr Sanjay Nishad sustained injury allegedly after being manhandled during a marriage function in Khalilabad area of Sant Kabir Nagar here in Uttar Pradesh, police said here on Monday.
Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Shahsi Shekhar Singh said cabinet minister Sanjay Nishad along with his supporters had gone to attend a marriage function in Mohammadpur Kathar on Sunday night.
"During this some persons had an altercation with the minister and manhandled him in which he sustained injury on the nose and his glasses broke," he said.
He said on the complaint of the minister's Personal Security Officer (PSO) a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) was lodged against eight persons, of which four have been arrested.
"Efforts are being made to nab four others," he said.
Minister Sanjay Nishad said he went to attend a marriage function on Sunday night during which some people used indecent words against the NISHAD party.
He said when he attempted to pacify the unruly elements, they turned violent and manhandled him and his supporters.
