Vijayendra hails ED property attachment as vindication for BJP

Bengaluru, Jan 18 (UNI) Karnataka BJP President Vijayendra Yediyurappa on Saturday hailed the Enforcement Directorate's (ED) attachment of properties linked to the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) scam, calling it a "major victory" for the party in the ongoing battle against corruption.

The ED’s investigation has brought to light allegations of illegal site allocations under the influence of Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, involving his wife and other benami entities. The BJP leader emphasised that the ED's action confirmed the party’s persistent efforts to expose systemic corruption within the state government.
"The ED's attachment of properties vindicates our relentless fight against corruption," Vijayendra stated, adding that the party's protests and campaigns have played a crucial role in bringing the issue to the forefront. He reiterated the demand for a comprehensive Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry, suggesting that the scam could involve misappropriation of thousands of crores in public funds.
Vijayendra called for CM Siddaramaiah’s immediate resignation to facilitate an impartial investigation. "The ED’s findings expose a deep-rooted system of misuse of power, and it’s time for the Chief Minister to step aside for the truth to emerge," he said.
The revelations follow the Karnataka High Court's endorsement of the Governor’s decision to sanction prosecution against the Chief Minister, a move that has drawn the ire of the Congress party, which is accused of undermining constitutional authorities.
Meanwhile, the BJP and JD(S) continue their protests across the state, including the highly successful MysoreChalo campaign, which has drawn significant attention to the scandal.
