Kolkata, Jul 13 (UNI) Senior BJP leaders Dilip Ghosh, Rahul Sinha and others on Monday called on West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar and sought CBI investigation into the death of Hematabad MLA Debendra Nath Roy.
Taking to his twitter handle, Mr Dhankhar said, " BJP Sr leaders MP Dilip Ghosh, Rahul Sinha and others called on me and sought CBI investigation of political murder of Hematabad MLA Debendra Nath Roy. "
" Delegation expressed concern at ‘सूपारी’ postings of police officials-tasked to harass and liquidate opposition leaders, " he added.

Mr Dhankhar also asked the Mamata Banerjee Government to observe highest transparency, saying autopsy of deceased BJP MLA from Hematabad in North Dinajpur district be videographed by expert team as per Supreme Court directives.
Mr Dhankhar said, " Hematabad MLA ‘hanging’-Police stance at top that it is ‘suicide’ is indicative of cover up- smacks with police prejudice, not without obvious intentions. " " Autopsy be VIDEOGRAPHED BY EXPERT TEAM AS PER SUPREME COURT DIRECTIVES, " he added.

Party's state president Dilip Ghosh demanded a CBI probe, alleging
their party MLA was murdered
by his known people as he came out of home around 1 AM after a call from them.
Mystery shrouded the death of BJP
MLA from Hemtabad in North Dinajpur district Debendra Nath Roy (59), who
was found hanging in front of a grocery shop in Bindal village, about a km away from his home early today.
Police investigating the unnatural death said the cause of the death will be
ascertained after autopsy as the body was
sent to the government hospital in Raigunj.
In May 2019, he along with Subhranshu Roy, Tushar Kanti Bhattacharya
and more than 50 Councillors joined the Bharatiya Janata Party
in the presence of senior BJP leaders Mukul Roy and Kailash
Vijayvargiya in New Delhi.
Roy was earlier a CPI(M) MLA but changed camps and joined BJP in 2019.
