India declines to comment on Australian media report on 'Indian spies'

New Delhi, May 2 (UNI) India on Thursday declined to comment on media reports in Australia that alleged that “Indian spies” were thrown out of the country in 2020 by the Morrison government, terming them as “speculative”.
Even as Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong, in her comments on the reports, said that her country will stress on the importance of maintaining their democratic principles, including in the face of “any suggestion of foreign interference”, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs declined to comment.
MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said: “We really have no comments to make on those reports; we see them as speculative reports, and have no comments to make on them. It is not our policy to do so, on such matters specially.”
