PM Modi arrives in Bhutan for two-day state visit

New Delhi, Mar 22 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Bhutan on Friday on a two-day state visit, where he will hold talks with the Prime Minister of Bhutan, Tshering Tobgay.
Prime Minister Modi was received by his Bhutani counterpart, Tshering Tobgay, at Paro airport and accorded a ceremonial welcome.
His visit was part of "Neighbourhood First Policy," with the tradition of regular high-level exchanges between India and Bhutan and the government’s emphasis on its Neighbourhood First Policy, said the Ministry of External Affairs.
During the visit, the Prime Minister will receive an audience with Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, the King of Bhutan, and Jigme Singye Wangchuck, the fourth King of Bhutan.
The MEA said PM Modi will inaugurate the Gyaltsuen Jetsun Pema Mother and Child Hospital in Thimphu, a state-of-the-art hospital built with the assistance of the Government of India in Thimphu.
Before leaving for Bhutan, PM Modi said, "I will be attending various programs aimed at further cementing the India-Bhutan partnership.".
"On the way to Bhutan, where I look forward to talks with Majesty the King of Bhutan, His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo, and Prime Minister @tsheringtobgay," he wrote on X.
PM Modi's visit to Bhutan was earlier postponed a day due to inclement weather conditions in the Himalayan nation.
The Prime Minister's visit to Bhutan comes days after his Bhutanese counterpart, Tshering Tobgay, visited India from March 14–18.

New Delhi, May 3 (UNI) Amid calls for a ceasefire in Gaza, India on Friday advised its nationals to remain vigilant while travelling to Iran and Israel, while noting that both the warring nations have opened their airspace.
In a statement, the Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal in response to a media query on a travel advisory with respect to Iran and Israel said:
"We continue to closely monitor the situation in the region. We have also noted that Iran and Israel have opened their airspace for several days now.
