New Delhi, Feb 6 (UNI) The Indian Youth Congress (IYC) on Monday staged a protest against the Narendra Modi-led government over the Adani issue.
Members of the youth wing of the Congress holding placards held the demonstration at the Jantar Mantar here, as part of the party's nationwide protest on the issue.
"The Modi government is silent on the allegations of fraud on the Adani group, which is an indication of its complicity in the matter," said IYC national President Srinivas BV.
He added, "The PM talks about his honesty and 'neeti' against corruption. In such a situation, serious allegations have been levelled against a business house. Why is the PM and the Finance Minister are sitting silent? Adani scandal is the biggest scam of independent India."
Several Opposition partied including Congress have been demanding to the Centre to either constitute a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) or set up an inquiry under the Chief Justice of Supreme Court to look into the Hindenburg Research report, which alleged that Adani Group had engaged in stock manipulation and accounting fraud scheme over the course of decades.
