Effectively responded to unprovoked firing by Pakistan: Indian Army

Jammu, Apr 2 (UNI) Stating that the Indian Army continued dominating the Line of Control, official spokesman here on Tuesday said the Indian Army effectively responded to the unprovoked firing by the Pakistan.
"On Apr 1, 2025, a mine blast occurred in Krishna Ghati Sector while the Pakistan Army was patrolling along the LC," said the spokesman in a statement.
He said, "This was followed by unprovoked firing and ceasefire violation by Pakistan Army," adding, "Own troops responded effectively. The Indian Army continues to dominate the LC. The situation is under control."
Earlier, Indian Army said the mine blast occurred due to Pakistan Army's intrusion across the Line of Control in Poonch district.
In a statement, Army said, "On Apr 1, a mine blast occurred in Krishna Ghati Sector due to Pakistan Army intrusion across LC."
"This was followed by unprovoked firing and ceasefire violation by Pakistan Army," said Army, adding, "own troops responded effectively in a controlled and calibrated manner."
Situation is under control and being closely monitored, said Army.
It further said, "Indian Army reiterates the importance of upholding the tenets of DGsMO understanding of 2021 to maintain peace along the Line of Control."
Notably, on Feb 21, in the wake of increased incidents of exchange of firing, India and Pakistan held a Brigadier-Level Flag Meeting at Chakkan-da-Bagh along the Line of Control in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.
India and Pakistan agreed to maintain sanctity of renewed ceasefire agreement for peace along the borders at Brigadier-Level Flag Meeting.
Both sides agreed to honour the ceasefire pact renewed on February 25, 2021 for calm and peaceful borders.
