Mumbai, Mar 14 (UNI) The first Indian Institute of Creative Technology (IICT) will be set up in Mumbai and space will be provided for it in the film industry in Goregaon, said Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis here on Friday.
On the lines of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), the IICT will provide new opportunities in the field of
education across the country and the first institute will be ready in Mumbai, he informed.
The IITC will not be limited to film production only but will provide research and training in areas such as digital content, VFX, animation, audio-visual storytelling, media innovation and Web 3.0 technology, he said.
Through this institution, the government intends to make Mumbai a world-class 'creative hub' and the central government will provide financial assistance of Rs 400 crore for establishment of this institution, said Fadnavis.
This initiative will be a milestone not only for Maharashtra but also for the creative technology sector of the entire country, he added.
