HYC storms NEIGRIHMS Director’s office, seeks 80:20 gender ratio

Shillong, Apr 4 (UNI) The Hynniewtrep Youth Council (HYC), a pressure group in Meghalaya, on Friday stormed the office of the Director of North East Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS), Prof. Nalin Metha after the expiry of the seven-day ultimatum given to him over their four-point charter of demands.
The HYC is demanding an 80:20 female to male ratio in the recruitment process for the recent advertisement for recruitment of 107 nursing officers in this central medical institute.
In a memorandum submitted to Director of NEIGRIHMS on March 24, the HYC had set seven-day deadline to have a gender specific ratio in the recruitment process for nurses.
