New Delhi, Nov 18 (UNI) Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Wednesday expressed his condolences on the death of former Goa Governor Mridula Sinha.
In his message, Mr Birla said, 'Pained to know about the sad demise of former Governor of Goa, Mridula Sinha ji. Her commitment to serving people and fighting social evils was reflected in her profound writings and also her work and life. My heartfelt condolences to her bereaved family and followers. Om Shanti!'
The renowned litterateur and former Goa Governor died here on Wednesday. She was 77.
Sinha had suffered a heart attack on November 14 and was admitted to Fortis Hospital.
Her son and BJP leader Naveen Sinha told UNI that she was showing signs of improvement but on Monday, she slipped into a state of unconsciousness and breathed last at around 1430 hrs of Wednesday.
