Smuggled goods worth Rs 134 crore seized in Manipur-Mynmar border

Imphal, Mar 31 (UNI) Troops have seized smuggled goods worth about Rs 134 crore in Manipur- Myanmar border areas in different operations from March 20 to 31.
Assam Rifles personnel successfully intercepted twelve Indian Trucks in the region of Z Choro in Kamjong District that were found to be transporting timber weighing approximately 3324 CFT, valued at approximately Rs 28.25 Lac without the necessary valid documentation on Sunday. The confiscated timber along with the drivers of the trucks were handed over to the Forest Beat Officer of Kamjong District for further necessary action.
During the period Mar 20 to 31 significant seizures, encompassing 11641 bags of Areca nuts weighing approximately 1127.18 Tons and valued at Rs. 130.29 Crores and 41857 CFT of Timber worth Rs. 3.89 crore were confiscated in Kamjong district and handed over to the Forest Beat Officer of Kamjong District, Amn Assam Rifles Official said.
