33.8 pc polling recoded in Bihar till 1 pm

Patna, April 26 (UNI) An estimated 33.80 per cent of 93,96,298 electorate exercised their franchise till 1pm during the second phase of Lok Sabha elections on five seats in Bihar.
Sources in the office of Chief Electoral Officer of Bihar said that highest polling of 36.59 per cent was recorded in Purnea, followed by Katihar (35.37), Kishanganj (34.65), Banka (32.32) and Bhagalpur 30.29 per cent.
No untoward incident has been reported from any part of the constituencies where polling is in progress.
Former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tarkishore Prasad, Independent candidate Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav and former Rajya Sabha member Ashfaque Kareem were among those who exercised their franchise during second phase of Lok Sabha elections in Bihar.
Congress candidate Ajit Sharma, his wife and actress-daughter Neha Sharma voted from Bhagalpur seat. Women and first time voters appeared excited to cast their votes as they waited in long queues.
