Rahul participates in "pad yatra" of Congress in Bihar

Patna, Apr 7 (UNI) Top Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday participated in "Palayan Roko Naukari Do" pad yatra (March) in Begusarai to highlight the "failures" of Nitish Kumar government in providing jobs to youths of Bihar and checking migration to other states in search of their livelihood.
Gandhi soon after his arrival at Patna airport from New Delhi left for Begusarai for participating in "Palayan Roko Naukari Do".
He participated in Pad Yatra in Begusarai where thousands of Congress workers, mostly youths and senior party leaders, accompanied him.
A day before participating in Pad Yatra, Gandhi in a video message had exhorted youths to participate in Pad Yatra in large numbers. He had asked them to be part of Pad Yatra, wearing white T shirts.
Senior Congress leaders including Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee(BPCC) Rajesh Ram, former BPCC Madan Mohan Jha and leaders of youth wing of the party participated in the Pad Yatra. Gandhi is also scheduled to participate in two programmes in Patna during the day.
Pad Yatra was taken out from Bhitiharwa under the leadership of firebrand Congress leader Kanhaiya Kumar. Pad Yatra will culminate in Patna on April 11. Congress is trying to connect itself with youths of Bihar for their support in state assembly elections to be held in October-November this year. Issues relating to Jobs for youths and their migration to other states for livelihood, were being raised vigorously in Bihar in election year.

Mizoram civil bodies reaffirm opposition to Indo-Myanmar border fencing in Delhi meeting

Aizawl, Apr 16 (UNI) Representatives from Mizoram's civil bodies have reiterated their opposition to the Centre’s move to scrap the Free Movement Regime (FMR) and erect fencing along the Indo-Myanmar border during a high-level meeting in Delhi, a statement said on Wednesday.The meeting on Tuesday evening was attended by Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan and representatives of the NGO Coordination Committee (NGOCC) and the Zo Reunification Organisation (ZoRO)The delegation, comprising leaders from prominent civil society groups and student organisations, conveyed their concerns directly to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), asserting that the Centre’s proposals disregard the ethnic, cultural and historical ties shared by Zo ethnic groups residing across the border.According to a joint press release issued by the NGOCC and ZoRO, the Union Home Secretary expressed hope that the Mizoram-based organisations would eventually support the Centre’s plans to fence the international boundary.
