AAP govt provided relief to people with free electricity, water, and education: Atishi

New Delhi, Jan 25 (UNI) Delhi Chief Minister Atishi on Saturday said that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government has provided significant relief to the people of Delhi by offering free electricity, water, education, healthcare, and other essential services.
Speaking at the Republic Day celebrations held at Chhatrasal Stadium, Atishi highlighted, “The AAP government has provided immense relief to the people of Delhi by offering free services, including electricity, water, education, and healthcare. The Delhi government allocates 25% of its budget to ensure quality education for children. Delhi is the only place in the country where electricity is available 24/7.”
“Even during last year’s extreme summer heat, there were no power cuts. Today, 1.1 million women in Delhi benefit from free public transport daily, enhancing their economic participation,” She added.
“Over the past 10 years, we have built 38 flyovers and rapidly developed roads, metro systems, and buses. On this occasion, we pledge to empower every woman in Delhi and ensure access to quality education, healthcare, and employment opportunities for all,” the CM asserted.
Atishi also emphasized the importance of remembering freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for India’s independence.
“Today is a day to remember the freedom fighters who gave their lives for the country’s freedom. After India’s independence, Baba Saheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar gave us our Constitution. This day is an opportunity to honor the vision of those who dreamed of a free India and sacrificed their lives for it.
During British rule, India was a very different country. People did not have rights, the power to elect their representatives, or even the freedom to voice their opinions. Most importantly, India’s resources were not under the control of its people,” She said.
“After independence, under the leadership of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the Constituent Assembly drafted the Indian Constitution. It was written with the vision of creating a country where every individual would have equal rights. A country with no discrimination, where everyone would have equal rights in democracy, and where there would be no distinction between rich and poor or big and small,” Atishi said.
“It is our responsibility to fulfill the dreams of Baba Saheb and the freedom fighters because countless individuals, whose names we may never know, made sacrifices for this vision. We can repay their sacrifices only by realizing their dreams,” the CM added.
