Jaipur-Bandikui link e-way opens, to cut Delhi- Jaipur journey period to 3 hours

Dausa, July 2 (UNI) The newly laid 4-lane greenfield Jaipur-Bandikui Express-way for connecting the Rajasthan capital with Delhi-Mumbai 6-lane trunk expressway was opened today for regulated traffic on a trial basis.
The clearance for regular traffic movement, after proper completion of successful trial would cut shorter, the Delhi-Jaipur journey period, to 2.5-3 hours, says NHAI Project Director (Dausa Unit) JS Joiya.
During the trial period, traffic is to be allowed through selective entry-exit "interchange points" from Jaipur and Bandikui terminals only.
Then it is to be opened for vehicles from Manoharpur and Kauthoon Highways and thereafter, gradually, the entry through a couple of more entry/exit points is to be opened.
In the meantime, the authorities and experts of NHAI will conduct quality checks and also technical parameters related to safety measures. Utility parameters of facilities uand performance tests would also been done.
The NHAI authorities said the 66.91 km ultra-modern link express-way has come up with investment of Rs 1,368 crore. The project involved a road over bridge (RoB), two major bridges, 13 minor (smaller) bridges and two flyovers.
Toll payment will not be charged during the trial period. However, later toll charges as per the tarriff would be compulsory.
