Indian Army brings solar power to border village split by LoC in Kupwara’s Karnah Valley

Srinagar, Apr 12 (UNI) The Indian Army has brought electricity for the first time to Simari, a remote border village near Teetwal in Kashmir’s Kupwara district, by harnessing solar power.

Situated along the Line of Control, Simari is a divided village, with one half lying across in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). The village has been fully electrified and LPG-enabled through a joint initiative of the Indian Army’s Kupwara based Vajr Division and Aseem Foundation, under the aegis of Army’s Srinagar Chinar Corps, Srinagar.
