Youth gets lifer for farmer's murder in Banda

Banda (UP), Mar 11 (UNI) A youth was sentenced to life imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 21,000 by a local court here for murder of a farmer in Bisanda area of Banda district here in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday, a prosecution counsel said here.
District Government Advocate (DGC) Vijay Bahadur Singh said that Rakesh Kumar Tripathi, a resident of Singhpur village of Bisanda police station area, was shot dead while he was guarding the crop on the night of January 31, 2018. "On the information received the next morning, the police recovered the body on February 1, 2018 and registered a case against an unidentified person and started a detailed investigation," he said.
He said that during investigation it was revealed that the deceased Rakesh had illicit relations with the mother of Rajju alias Rajesh Kori due to which the latter shot him dead. "On the basis of facts found in the detailed investigation, the police took legal action against Rajju Kori and filed a charge sheet in the court," he said.
