Thiruvananthapuram, Apr 13 (UNI) Kerala Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar on Sunday said it is time to rededicate ourselves to the ideals of the Constitution that Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar has stood for.
He said this while inaugurating the Jai Bhim Ambedkar Jayanthi Padayatra organised by Nehru Yuva Kendra, commemorating the birth anniversary of constitutional architect, Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar.
Noting that youth has a very important role to play in Viksit Bharat, the Governor said the message of Ambedkar has to be taken to every nook and corner of the country.
"For Ambedkar, the nation was foremost in his mind, not his caste or his region."
The Governor called for the commitment of youth to the ideals of Dr. Ambedkar and to serve the depressed and marginalised sections of society.
Former Union Minister V. Muraleedharan read out the preamble of the Constitution as a pledge to the padayathris.
