Op Brahma: Indian Army Field Hospital in Mandalay treats nearly 400 patients, NDRF team recovers 50 bodies

New Delhi, Apr 4 (UNI) The Indian Army Field Hospital in quake-hit Mandalay has treated 394 patients so far, including conducting surgeries, while the NDRF team has recovered 50 bodies so far from under the rubble of collapsed buildings.
According to an update by the Ministry of External Affairs on Operation Brahma, a total of 154 patients were treated at the Army Field Hospital today, bringing the total number of patients to 394. This included two major cases of surgeries and nine minor ones.
The National Disaster Response Force (⁠NDRF) team recovered a total of 15 bodies today, bringing the total number of recovered bodies to 50. They are currently working on two active sites.
⁠Frequent tremors continue in Mandalay with low intensity below 5 Richter scale quakes. The latest tremor occurred on Thursday evening with a magnitude of 4.2.
The ⁠Indian Community members are providing translation volunteers at the army field hospital, the MEA said.
Myanmar was rocked by a massive 7.7 Richter earthquake on March 28, and several major aftershocks later. The quake, which was centered in Mandalay, has led to over 2,000 deaths so far and caused widespread devastation.
India launched Operation Brahma to help Myanmar, sending HADR - Humanitarian and Disaster Relief supplies like food items, tents, medicines, and also sent the NDRF search and rescue team and the Indian Army field hospital.
