Dubai, Apr 8 (UNI) India's middle-order batsman Shreyas Iyer has been named among the nominees for the ICC Men’s Player of the Month award for March 2025, following his stellar role in steering India to Champions Trophy glory.
Iyer emerged as the top scorer for India during the ICC Champions Trophy, amassing 172 runs in three crucial innings at an impressive average of 57.33. The right-hander's composed 48 in the summit clash against New Zealand, along with key contributions of 79 against the same side in the group stage and a gritty 45 in the semifinal against Australia, cemented his position as a pillar of India's batting unit.
Joining Iyer on the prestigious shortlist are New Zealand duo Jacob Duffy and Rachin Ravindra — both instrumental in guiding the Black Caps to the final of the marquee tournament.
Pacer Jacob Duffy lit up March with 13 wickets in New Zealand’s 4-1 T20I series triumph over Pakistan, including career-best figures of 4/14. His dominance in the shortest format saw him rise to the No. 1 spot in the ICC Men's T20I bowling rankings. He ended the month with 15 wickets across six matches, making a compelling case for the award.
All-rounder Rachin Ravindra too had a standout month, contributing 151 runs in three ODIs at a brisk strike rate of 106.33. His knock of 108 against South Africa in the semi-final was the highest individual score of the Champions Trophy.
He also picked up three wickets, underlining his impact in all facets of the game.
