Waqf Bill aims to polarise and grab land of minority communities: Karnataka Congress

Bengaluru, Apr 7 (UNI) Senior Congress leaders Syed Naseer Hussain and Priyank Kharge on Monday launched a scathing attack on the Centre over the recently passed bill concerning Waqf properties, alleging that the move is aimed at "communal polarisation" and the "systematic targeting" of minority communities in order to seize their properties.
Rajya Sabha MP Hussain said the legislation had "exposed the true intentions” of the BJP-led government, which he claimed seeks to "seize the lands of religious institutions belonging to a particular community."
"Let me be very clear, there should be equality before the law. There must be parity in laws for different sections of society. There should be one law for everyone," Hussain said. "However, this bill has thoroughly exposed the true intentions of the government. They do not merely want to polarise this issue, they also want to seize the lands of religious institutions."
