Ajit Pawar welcome decision to cancel 20 PC export duty on onion from Apr 1

Mumbai, Mar 23 (UNI) Maharashtra state Deputy Chief and Finance Minister Ajit Pawar has welcomed the decision of cancelling 20 percent export duty on onion from April 1,2025 onwards taken by the central government.
In his media statement issued on Sunday Pawar stated that, the central government has taken a decision that will give a big relief to onion farmers in Maharashtra.
In this regards notification has been issued and this will give relief to lakhs of onion producing farmers in the state.

Pawar welcomed this decision and thanked the entire Union Cabinet including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal.
Welcoming this decision, Pawar said, "This decision of the central government is very important for the farmers of the state. Due to the cancellation of 20 percent export duty levied on onion export, the way has been paved for the farmers to get the right price for their goods. In order to solve this problem, he had directly communicated with the Union Minister for Cooperation Shah and requested him to pay attention to this issue. Considering the problems of the farmers in the state and the need for immediate measures, he took the initiative and played an important role in making this decision under the guidance of Prime Minister Modi.
Therefore, I sincerely thanked Prime Minister Modi, Agriculture Minister Chauhan, Union Commerce Minister Goyal and the entire cabinet.

The state government is committed to the welfare of farmers in the state, and decisions will be taken in the interest of farmers in the future as well." mentioned Pawar.
