Bihar govt to construct Gauraya Kutir in all city parks for sparrow conservation

Patna, Mar 21 (UNI) In a significant step to protect sparrows, the Bihar Forest and Environment Department has announced the construction of ‘Gauraya Kutir’ in all parks across Patna.
Forest Conservator of the Wildlife Zone, Satyajit Kumar said here on Friday that the specially designed shelters will provide a safe habitat for sparrows, ensuring their protection and revival. The first ‘Gauraya Kutir’ will be established at S.K. Puri Park in the state capital.
Kumar, stated that the department would soon release an action plan for sparrow conservation, which has been prepared by sparrow expert Sanjay Kumar. The Bihar Forest Department has already taken several initiatives to protect this small bird species.
