Patna, Mar 23 (UNI) Congress on Sunday alleged that the Nitish Kumar government had not conducted the caste survey properly and increased reservation limit for Backwards and other deprived sections.
Congress in charge of Bihar, Krishna Allaveru told media persons here that the Nitish Kumar government had not conducted caste census properly as it carried several discrepancies. Reservation limit for Backward Classes, Other Backward Classes (OBCs), Scheduled Castes (SCs), and Scheduled Tribes(STs) was increased based on the caste census but it could not stand in the eyes of the law as the court quashed the notification of Nitish Kumar government increasing reservation limit for them in state government services, he added.
Allaveru said that the reservation limit for BCs, EBCs, SCs, and STs was increased to 65 percent from the existing level of 49 percent. A 16 percent gain for them in reservation in government services had no advantage for them as double engine government of NDA could not take concrete steps to ensure its benefit to those for which it was rolled out, he alleged.
