PM Modi holds talks with his Bhutanese counterpart Dasho Tshering Tobgay

New Delhi, Mar 14 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday held talks with his Bhutanese counterpart Dasho Tshering Tobgay on various aspects of "unique and special partnership" between the two neighbouring countries.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also thanked the Bhutan Prime Minister for inviting him to visit Bhutan next week.
"Glad to meet my friend and PM of Bhutan @tsheringtobgay on his first overseas visit this term. Had productive discussions encompassing various aspects of our unique and special partnership. I convey heartfelt thanks to His Majesty the King of Bhutan and @PMBhutan for inviting me to visit Bhutan next week" PM Modi wrote on his X handle after the discussions at his residence 7, Lok Kalyan Marg
The visiting Prime Minister arrived in the national capital earlier in the day on a five-day official visit to India at Modi's invitation.
This is the first overseas visit of the Bhutanese PM who assumed office in January.
The Bhutan PM is accompanied by the Foreign Affairs and External Trade Minister, Energy and Natural Resources Minister, Industry, Commerce and Employment Minister, and senior officials from the Royal Government of Bhutan.
The External Affairs Minister and other Indian dignitaries will call on the Prime Minister of Bhutan.
Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay will also visit Mumbai.
Earlier, in a statement the Ministry of External Affairs said, "India and Bhutan enjoy exemplary ties of friendship and cooperation, based on trust, goodwill and mutual understanding at all levels".
"The visit of the Prime Minister of Bhutan will provide an opportunity to the two sides to review the progress in our unique partnership and to discuss ways and means to expand the enduring ties of friendship and cooperation between India and Bhutan" said the Ministry. UNI JA SSP
